Bailey wins Rok California opener
The inaugural Rok California Championship round took place in Buttonwillow, California last weekend. The Rok Shifter Sr. field saw 17 drivers taking place in the event with many local drivers on hand.
Qualifying was interrupted by rain, but Kol managed to qualify 3rd for Sunday’s Non-progressive Heats #1 and #2.
The first heat saw mixed conditions where Bailey went from 3rd to 1st and stretching his lead to take a commanding victory.
The second heat saw Kol start and finish 3rd, which still placed him on Pole position for the 20 lap final.
Starting on pole for the final, Bailey took the hole shot on the start and never looked back, taking another commanding victory at the end of the 20 lap final in dry conditions right before the rain came in.
“I am very fortunate for this victory and for even being here. A few days ago, we thought we weren’t even going to make it to this race. I am very fortunate that God has given me this opportunity and victory, but also the people that help me a long the way. My GFC Chassis powered by my SwedeTech-Vortex Rok Shifter ran flawless all day, the Bridgestone tires worked well the entire weekend. All in all, Andy Seesemann and Vortex put on a great event, and I am looking forward to the next one.”
