Bailey has a good start to 2020
The first two rounds of the 2020 Vortex Rok Challenge of the Americas season were quite successful for Bailey and the GFC team.
Rounds 1 and 2 in Tucson, AZ showed the true pace that GFC and SwedeTech racing engines provide for Bailey.
Starting from P10 on the grid in Saturday’s pre-final, Bailey stormed his way to the P5 spot. This set the stage for the final, where Bailey agressively hounded rivals Race Liberante and Keawn Tandon fighting over the podium positions during the last 2-3 laps. It all went down to the wire in the last corner where Liberante went wide allowing Bailey to capitalize. It became a drag race for the final podium spot, where Bailey and Liberante drag raced to the line locking tires in a cloud of tire smoke. This created the first ever GFC podium sweep.
Sunday tarted off a bit better. In the final, Bailey made a pass for 5th in the opening laps on his way to another podium spot until contact with Liberante set him back to 6th.
“All in all, it wasn’t a bad weekend. I’m excited for the next race in Fontana for round two of the 2020 Challenge of the Americas championship” commented Bailey.
